Asalamu’alykum warahmatuLlahi wabarakaatuhu, beloved brothers and sisters in faith.
It’s a surprise to hear from us, isn’t it? I hope it is a pleasant surprise, though. MTE 4.0 is nigh; hence, get ready to be sick of us! In a good way, you know the kind of fuzzy feeling you get when you’ve had chocolate or candy to your fill, and now you’re sick with contentment and serotonin. Yes, that’s exactly the kind of feel-good hormone MTE is bringing to your inbox.

“AI is taking over most of the jobs.” “Tech has come to stay.” “In the next few years, many people will be laid off from their jobs because AI has taken over.” And on and on it goes. Do these statements sound familiar? In fact, I’m sure many of us know these statements and can recite them off the top of our heads like the lyrics of a famous song played in every corner of the street—but in this case, like Surah al-Fatiha.

Muslim Tech Expo is an event that caters to Muslim tech enthusiasts, professionals, builders, and entrepreneurs to engage, learn, build, and even earn through technology in a way that keeps us grounded as Muslims in the world of artificial intelligence and technology combined.
So if the news that AI is taking over is true, what exactly is MTE about? Why is MTE still bringing Muslims from all over the country together to discuss tech, one may wonder?
But as Muslims, Islam teaches us to tie our camels while trusting in Allah. Moreover, AI has not come to displace people from their jobs but to remove inefficiencies and make life easier for those who know how to employ AI as a tool, rather than as a replacement for their own skills.
Whether we like to hear it or not, AI has come to stay. It doesn’t necessarily have to scare us off; it is here to help us learn how to integrate it into our lives as tech professionals and to use it ethically as Muslims.
While we count down to MTE 4.0, it is imperative that we get our heads in the right direction, and that is why we are here doing what we are doing right now. Having a dream is good, but being lost as to the essence of that dream or goal is not entirely a bad thing, so rather than feel guilty or sad about it, let’s learn together.

So while you go about your business, coding, designing, building, learning, or even teaching, don’t forget to get up from your seat, move around, hydrate properly, and eat well.
As we are wont to do, do not get so absorbed in this dunya that you forget the sole purpose of your creation, which is to serve Allah. Remember to take Solah breaks as applicable.
We ask Allah to illuminate your path, guide your anchor points in life and in design, and make your codes function properly.
Expect to hear from us again soon, bidhniLlah. I mean, you can’t get rid of us so easily. Haha!
Fee amaniLlah, see you soon, techies.
All our love,
